Civitatours will have you visit Rome on their unforgettable walking tour, with a guide will be a memorable day
I couldn’t believe that I was finally going to live my dream vacation with Mark. Visit Rome Italy, we booked a stop over in Rome from Civitavecchia for a day tour. The Classical Rome tour with Civitatours. There were many Rome tour packages and itineraries to visit Rome to choose from but between many we liked the Rome tour in one day which was the one which had the most things elencate in the best guide of the best things to do in Rome.
As we arrived at Civitavecchia one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean, they announced to us that our bus was waiting for us on the dock. As we made our way to our bus we could see the Civitatours signs up and our bilingual tour guide waving hello. I was actually jumping for joy and Mark couldn’t stop laughing at me, “Buongiorno a tutti” was all we had learnt to say, we practiced at home before leaving, ahahaha.
We took our seats in the bus and listened carefully to our guide as she explained our day, and the top things to do in Rome thanks to our Classical Rome tour. Off we were to the eternal city, the Colosseum tours, so fascinating I love everything about Italy and Italians, so carefree people and joyful. A walking tour Rome was what I needed, after an hour we arrived, the bus stopped near the Vatican walls, with our camera and mobile phone in our hands we followed our guide as she lead us to St,Peter’s Square, “oh my God Mark, do you see what I see? St. Peter’s Basilica” it was bigger than I had imagined and more beautiful.
Love these Rome walks, the sun was shining and the weather was perfect, Italians all around us talking away and every word that came out of their mouth were like music to me. We returned on the bus to continue our Panoramic tour in Rome along the Tiber the main water course of Rome. Tiberine Island , the Pyramid of Cestius and the baths of Caracalla were divine. But what was to come was my dream, Rome Colosseum tour, we started the incredible walking tour Rome at the bottom of the largest anphiteatre ever built. Our tour guide was amazing she explained things so clearly and made our journey fun.
Mark and I were so happy and glad we decided to take this tour, our travelling friends were very nice and made the walk even more enjoyable. We were all taking so many pictures and selfies , as we passed by anything that said Roma. From the Imperial Forum we headed off to Venice square, and then I noticed Mark freeze in the middle of the sidewalk , there it was in front of us in all of its glory the Altar of the Fatherland, Rome walking tours could not have gotten any better ,so far it was the TOP of the tours, but yes it was going to get better because we were about to see the most famous barouque fountain ever built and I was going to make a movie like wish by tossing a coin in the fountain. We closed our eyes and made a wish , what a wonderful sound that the coin made once it hit the water. It was lunch time and we couldn’t wait to go and sit down amoung Italians and eat a delicious plate of pasta with a good glass of wine. Absolutely divine, and to make it even more perfect an espresso coffee.
As I turned around I didn’t see Mark, what captured my attention was the cheering of some Italian boys playing soccer, there he was just like a little boy playing his favourite sport , and singing the juventus song with them. Everyone on our group was cheering as he scored. I took my sweetheart by the hand and we walked freely towards the Pantheon, Navona Square, and the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Incredible so much history and so much beauty a day that we shall cherish forever had come to an end. Mark and I were extremely satisfied with the choice of the day tour with civitatours. Our drive back to the port was pleasant, we all talked about our day and thanked the tour guide for everything. We actually exchanged numbers with some of our day friends promising to see each other again.
Between many itineraries, the Classical Rome tour allowed us to visit the best places to visit in Rome. Thank you so much Roma for everything, a perfect tour and a perfect day.

Michael and I have been wanting to take a trip to Italy for the longest time. We had planned on it last year but then found out that I was pregnant so we decided to postpone the trip. Not easy to travel with a little six month old baby but we planned it out well. We looked into several tours and found the perfect Tarquinia dream tour, one of the tours offered by Civitatours, a private tour from Civitavecchia to Tarquinia Italy.
Finaly we found what we were looking for a comfortable relaxing and very interesting tour, that we could easily enjoy with our baby girl. As we approached Civitavecchia Michael and I stood on the bridge and were amazed at all the beauty in front of us. Wow the Tarquinia tour is going to be amazing. Took the baby and the stroller down to the dock. We approached the bus that was waiting for us, we were welcomed by the civitatour signs and our lovely bilingual tour guide. They were so kind as to assign us front row seats so that the baby would be comfortable. Such a wonderful attentive service, happy to have choosen tour Tarquinia with Civitatours, our destination was Tarquinia a dream come true.
Once we started towards our destination our tour guide was explaining the, Rome Italy tour, and what we were going to see. It was such a lovely ride, the baby slept all the way, so Michael and I had some time to actually relax before our big adventure, our private Tarquinia tour. Full of excitement we finally reached our destination the baby awoke and we were off, the guides at the artetruria association presented us with the four exceptional tombs, of the Etruscan heritage. We slowly made our way to lay our eyes on so much history, the tomb of the Bulls, the Baron, the Panther and the Augurs, were opened esclusively just for us, wow this Tarquinia day tour could not get any better, civitatour was a god sent. Michael and I were just enjoying everything because it was such a relaxing interesting tour, they were all so kind with us in regards to the babies needs.
We went on to discover their funeral paintings and traditions quite mysterious people. The most ancient tomb discovered so far was the Panther tomb, to the mythological representations of the bulls tomb. Our guides were so clear and patient with our questions. “Michael we need to change the babies diaper, can you please ask where it can be done?” as we changed the baby they all so kindly waited. Our tour continued with a walk through the heart of ancient corneto, the medieval jewel of the Tuscia region. They took us to a tower called “Torrione” and from there we admired the most impressive panorama, Michael was taking so many pictures of the baby, he was asking everyone on our tour group if they could take pictures of us as a family.
They were happy to help, laughing and cheering such a happy father on his first family trip. He was loving all the attention, love him so much and am blessed to have experienced this Tarquinia dream tour. Michael turns to the guides and in a incredible perfect Italian asks Quando si mangia? I looked over at him and was shocked ,perfect timing , we stopped and enjoyed an all tasting menu of the local food and wine. The day came to an end and we were heading back to Civitavecchia, I personally thanked each and everyone on my tour group for being so supportive and patient with the baby. We also thanked our bilingual guide of civitatour for such a memorable and relaxing experience. This will not definitely be our last with civitatour ,I highly recommend them on the stop over in rome from Civitavecchia for a day. We said our last goodbyes and waved as we boarded the ship.

Civitatours will have you discover and experience Rome on a panoramic bus with a skip the line to St.Peter’s and interiors
As we finally come to the end of our college graduation we had promised ourselves a trip to Italy. Along with my four college friends we decide to look into things to do in rome Italy. We booked our cruise and guided tours of rome and are headed to Italy. There were many tours to choose from and rome tours packages, we decide to go along with the rome classic tour and added the St. Peter’s with skip the line tour. Here we are, Rosa, Jack, Connie and myself, ready to create new wonderful memories in the eternal city of rome.
With the wind that accompanies us and music on our speaker we are approaching Civitavecchia. We are trying to be quite serious and not do our usual crazy happy fun things, but we could not help ourselves, we are headed to rome the city of the gladiators, and were so excited. On the dock as we came off the ship were our bilingual tour guides waiting for us with the civitatour signs. We have our seats assigned and we carefully listen to our guide as she explains the day tours in rome.
Oh my god we are loving looking outside at the country roads and the little Fiat 500 that calmly pass by. They announce to us that we are about to arrive after an hour of travelling, here we are in rome ready to do what romans do, have the time of our lives. Let the show begin. Jack and I high five and hope to finally see some beautiful Italian women. The bus stops at the Leonine walls and our walking tour rome begins, heading to St.Peter’s square and its famous Egyptian obelisk, we are speechless to the imposing St. Peters Basilica, nothing like in our history books,” wow, wow, wow” it was all we could pronounce. We choose the optional guided tour of its interior, the Vatican tours .
Everything inside the Vatican was unbelievable paintings, sculptures, maps, just incredible. After an hour and a half we return to the bus, on our way there, Jack and I were finally gifted with the sight of the most beautiful women we had ever seen, actually there was not even one of them that we encountered that wasn’t like a goddess. We continue our tours in rome along the Tiber on our panoramic tour. Connie is taking so many pictures that we all decided to have her take them all and then create an album on our rome tours.
With the priority option of the tour St. Peter’s with skip the line I was able to visit Rome through one of the best places in Rome: St Peter’s Basilica. If you’re looking for a guide to the best things to do in Rome, this one is certainly on every self-respecting itinerary for visiting Rome. The St. Peter’s with skip the line tour was such a blessing!
We pass by the Pyramid of Cestius and make our way the the baths of Caracalla, wow they were big baths, romans really treated themselves well, ahahah.” Look guys ,whats that? Is it what I think it is? The Colosseum” Rosa was going on and on and on, talking and jumping for joy, she thought she was going to meet her gladiator, we couldn’t stop laughing. This was the most amazing walking tour ever, romes history all there infront of us. The Imperial Forum, Venice Square, and the imponent Altar of the Fatherland.
I look over at my friends and tell them to get their coins ready we are about to see the most beautiful barouque fountain ever built, the Trevi Fountain. All four of us turned our back to the fountain made a wish and outloud exclaimed “one, two, three, roma forever”, and tossed the coin in the fountain. Finally the announcement that we were waiting for, it was lunch time, which meant pizza time! We enjoyed lunch watching the romans just loving life, Jack got his chance to finally say hello to a very beautiful girl, unfortunately when he finally got a chance to do so, we announced that it was time to go for a walk, he looked over at us and wanted to cry, Rosa and Connie were laughing and I pretended not to see his disappointment.
Snapping away and chatting we visited the Pantheon, Navona Square, and the fountain of the Four Rivers. This exciting trip unfortunately came to an end. We got back onto our bus and were headed to Civitavecchia. Since at this point we felt so Italian we decided to sing, O Sole Mio, thanking our tour guides and Civitatours for such an unbelivable experience and memories that we shall cherish forever. On our way up to the ship we waved goobye to our tour guides and our tours in Rome.
”Arrivederci a presto” .

What an incredible journey, Bill and I were simply enjoying everything along the way, taking in as much as possible, so much history and so much beauty in front just waiting for us. We follow our guide as they kindly and very professionally explain along the way the history. I was busy admiring some Italians as they so gracefully speak with their hands when I suddenly find myself in front of the most breathtaking monument I have ever seen or even imagined, the Basilica of San Pietro, the biggest and most famous church in the world.” Bill, am I dreaming? Can this be real? Can we really be here finally living our rome tour in one day? ” Bill just smiles at me and that was my answer.
We return to the bus and our guide continues narrating the history of the eternal city, as we drive along the main watercourse of Rome. Pass the Tiberine Island, the piramide of Cestius ,come across the second largest baths called Baths of Caracalla. We are headed to the largest amphitheatre ever built the symbol of rome, I have a little statue of it in my living room and seeing it live is fascinating and so different ahahah. As we passed by there was a very long line up for the mouth of the truth. We then continue our wonderful walking tour, I am in love with all that the Italians represent, the are so relaxed, joyful people enjoying their day in the warm sun under a roman sky.
We pass Rione of Sant’Angelo ,Capitoline Hill, and arrive at Venice Square. Once again we are amazed at the imponent Altar of the Fatherland. As our walk continues I tried to take in as much as possible, we took so many pictures not missing one single thing or moment because this is a one day tour of a lifetime. There it is the Fountain of Trevi a marvelous baroque fountain, Bill and I with a coin in our hand make a wish and toss it in the fountain just like in the movies. We now are free to enjoy our lunch, what a pleasant part of the day, I am craving a true plate of pasta with fresh tomato sauce and Bill desires his true Italian pizza. Panoramic restaurant Rome perfect, “ buon appetito Bill” , “buon appetito Mary” delicious wonderful. And to make it even more perfect our gelato, Bill was so attracted to two little italian boys which were playing soccer, that he completely forgot about his gelato which had completely melted, as he looked over to finally notice that his hand was completely covered in icecream causing our tour friends into laughing out loud, what a fun moment, abviously the heat in Rome is different than in Canada.
We admired the Pantheon, Navona Square, Fountain of the four rivers. How memorable, our tour had come to an end but my heart and Bills heart were full of joy, thanks to the panoramic tour of rome we had fuffiled our dream.
Between many itineraries, this one allowed us to be in the best places to visit in Rome and check most of the monuments present on the guide of the best things to do in Rome. Civitatours made it all possible. As we make our way to the dock I turn around and with a great big smile thank them all for the most precious day of our lives.
