Golf Club Punta Ala, Tuscany

The A.S.D.  Golf Club Punta Ala, Tuscany started its activity in the spring of 1964. The course is situated in a panoramic area with a view of the sea, it has a total length of 6.168 metres with a PAR 72, with slight and natural undulations of the terrain, in the middle of the “macchia maremmana” composed of a thick vegetation of evergreen trees: domestic and maritime pines, cork oaks, secular holm oaks, oaks, albatross bushes that also constitute beautiful natural obstacles for the game.

It is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Tuscany and Italy, immersed in the beautiful vegetation of the Maremma in the province of Grosseto, just a few kilometres from tourist towns such as Castiglione della Pescaia and Follonica. It is an ideal holiday location for playing golf in complete relaxation, and for taking part in golf clinics organised by the club’s federal instructor. The sporting activity takes place continuously throughout the year with an intense programme of competitions, especially during the summer season.

The construction of this marvellous golf course is due to the Punta Ala Society and the commitment of the designer, who completed the construction work in record time. In fact, the course was opened for play just two years after the start of work, which is perhaps, at least in Europe, a real record. Come experience the Golf Club Punta Ala, Tuscany.

The design of the 18 holes was created by Giulio Cavalsani, according to the most modern criteria of golf architecture and the greens, almost all undulating and of vast dimensions, were located in the most strategic points of the available area. Each hole presents various types of difficulty, creating a course that can meet the needs of every player.

The course is located in a scenic area, with a view of the sea, and was ranked by a group of foreign journalists as 5th in Europe in terms of both technical and scenic aspects. From each hole you can enjoy a wonderful view like few other golf courses in Europe, with the sea in front and the lush Mediterranean vegetation behind, under an always clear sky.

The structure also includes various restaurants and, last but not least, the Terrazza il Cielo Cocktail Bar Music Golf Club Punta Ala.

In particular, going up the steps of the stairs inside the Punta Ala Golf Club Restaurant you reach the “Terrazza il Cielo”.
The view is fantastic: you can admire the panorama of the whole of Punta Ala, Tuscnay as well as the Gulf of Follonica and the Tuscan Archipelago. The sunset is also very suggestive: there is nothing more enchanting than ending a beautiful day of golf and stopping at the “Terrazza il Cielo” to enjoy a drink accompanied by the delicacies proposed by the Chef and listen to good music.
