Welcome Bio in Tuscan countryside

This farmhouse enjoys an excellent location, 5 km from Alberese, close to the sea (only 9 km from the beaches) and bordering on the Parco dell’Uccellina, a wonderful naturalistic attraction in Tuscany. It is close to Grosseto (15 minutes by car), a Tuscan town that is perhaps less well-known than the others, but which boasts a historic centre worth visiting, surrounded by hexagonal walls dating back to the Middle Ages, renovated in the 16th century and preserved almost intact. The Agriturismo has a long history, which began in the period of the reclamation of the marshes near Grosseto around the 1920s. In those years the farms of the Mezzadri, veterans of the First World War, were built. They came from the Veneto region with their families to work the land of the Maremma and provide work for the reclamation.

The Podere was built in that period and called “Podere di Santa Lucia”. With the first renovation in 1995 it was transformed into a building suitable for accommodating tourists visiting our beautiful region.

The location is excellent for those who want to get closer to nature and the countryside, thanks to its proximity to the Parco dell’Uccellina, which covers an area of about 9,800 hectares characterized by a vast area of Mediterranean scrub, where it is easy to meet wild animals of various kinds (deer, foxes, wild boars, etc.) and descends to the sea, creating a beautiful backdrop to some of the most beautiful beaches of the Maremma such as the beach of Collelungo and the beach of Cala di Forno.

The Tuscan Maremma is renowned for the excellence of its culinary delights: first and foremost the Morellino wine, then the special Maremma tortelli, pecorino cheese, ham and wild boar dishes. The restaurant offers homemade food, rediscovering old flavours as well as new recipes based on seasonal produce. The farm prefers fresh products from their own countryside and those at 0 km in order to offer the client a culinary experience totally immersed in the flavours of “Casa Nostra”. The farmhouse also has an equestrian centre, where you can ride Maremma horses. Considering that the Maremma Nature Reserve is bordering the property, from the stables you can ride immediately to discover the fauna and flora that characterise the park.
