Our assistant will accompany you towards the St. Peter’s Basilica by walking along a part of the Gianlorenzo Bernini’s colonnade surrounding St. Peter’s Square, consisting in 284 columns and 88 pillars.
Once inside you can admire La Pietà, considered as the absolute masterpiece of Michelangelo, and the famous bronze canopy by Bernini. The canopy, 29 meters high and composed of four spiral columns, is located right in the center of the Basilica. Inside there is a golden dove, while the lower floor is the tomb of St. Peter.
You will not even miss the funeral monument of Clement XIII sculpted by Antonio Canova and the Altar of the Chair by Bernini, with the wooden throne donated by Charles the Bald in 875.

Opening hours and days: by order of the Vatican the priority entrance service is suspended on Sundays, holidays and in some cases on Wednesdays.
