One of our assistants will escort you inside the Basilica, after passing the required security controls.
To enjoy this service you must book one of the dedicated tours in Rome (Classical or Panoramic Tour of Rome, Rome on your own transfer) and buy the ticket for the Basilica directly on board the bus or on our website.
Our assistant will accompany you towards the St. Peter’s Basilica by walking along a part of the Gianlorenzo Bernini’s colonnade surrounding St. Peter’s Square, consisting in 284 columns and 88 pillars.
Once inside you can admire La Pietà, considered as the absolute masterpiece of Michelangelo, and the famous bronze canopy by Bernini. The canopy, 29 meters high and composed of four spiral columns, is located right in the center of the Basilica. Inside there is a golden dove, while the lower floor is the tomb of St. Peter.
You will not even miss the funeral monument of Clement XIII sculpted by Antonio Canova and the Altar of the Chair by Bernini, with the wooden throne donated by Charles the Bald in 875.
The visit lasts about 40/45 minutes and includes a minimum number of 5 participants, so that you can have the Vatican guide available. In case of smaller number of participants, you can take the audio guide.

Dress code for the entrance to St. Peter’s Basilica without queuing up: given the sacred nature of the place, women must have arms and knees covered while men must wear t- shirt and have covered knees.
Prohibited objects: metal and/or dangerous objects, such as knives, may not be brought into the Basilica.
Opening hours and days: by order of the Vatican the priority entrance service is suspended on Sundays, holidays and in some cases on Wednesdays.
